SIZZLING SALSA NEWSLETTER Autumn 2006

Welcome back to classes. I hope you had a great summer.  Well there is a lot happening on the dance scene, so here are a few dates for your diary.

Weekend 27-29th October - Metropole Hotel - visiting Salsa teachers and dancers from the UK join us for a weekend of fantastic workshops and Salsa Discos. Book soon and direct with the hotel. Last year it was £20 per day or $50 for a weekend of workshops and discos. You may also wish to book in and stay at the hotel. A number of Jersey and Guernsey teachers and students will be there.

Weekend 17th - 19th November - Guernsey Weekend, with top visiting teacher Mauricio. For details and to book contact Heidi direct on Heidi4salsa04@hotmail.com

A group from Jersey including myself will be going to this. Mauricio is a fantastic and inspiring teacher.

Saturday 30th September

is another salsa night run in conjunction with JADA at Trinity Parish Hall from 7:30 - 11:00pm Cost 2.50 for members and 3.50 non members. Just turn up and bring your own drinks / nibbles.

Weekend 6th/7th October and 10th /11th November

Gareth is back to take Ballroom/Latin Classes and Private lessons. His JADA sessions take a schedule and booking form or contact Roger Barette on 733120 or rodders@jerseymail.co.uk .

Harvest Barn

Don't forget to join us any Thursday night at the Harvest Barn with lovely teachers Zoe, Kary, Jill and myself. We all teach all levels in a very relaxed atmosphere in 2 rooms. Classes are £5 and only £7 for 2 classes and you only pay for classes that you attend. Beginners and Improvers are at 8:00 PM with Intermediate 9:00 PM. So come along, dance and enjoy a drink too.

La Cala

A Latin Club runs every Tuesday night upstairs in the Champagne Bar and is free with free tuition for the lovely Paula Agathangalou. Do go along. It is such fun and a chance to dance and socialize.

Cuban style Salsa

Anneka (a regular at La Cala) is running cuban salsa classes at La Cala Thursday Nights at 8:30 pm . Go and try them out.

Argentine Tango

Mike and Teddy are running fabulous classes on Tuesday nights at the Town Church hall (in the church grounds). Cost £5. Just turn up. Couples preffered.

7:30 Beginners and 8:30 Intermediaries

Flamenco

Ann is running a Flamenco dance workshop on Saturday 21st October 2:00 - 4:30. I will teach the 'Sevillanas' dance and castanet work. Give it a try. Full details and booking form will be available soon.
